Conferences

From the beginning of the third millennium, together with extension of cooperation between Georgian scientists and CERN, a series of conferences in various fields of fundamental sciences – Mathematics, Physics, Biology, etc. has been held  in Georgia (Tbilisi) under the supervision of Academician A. Tavkhelidze. These conferences were financially supported by UNESCO. The first conference on high energy physics, titled “Physics on Future Colliders” was held in 2001 and it was further repeated each second (odd) year until the exploitation of the LHC in 2009. From 2011 it was decided that the conference should be given all-embracing title: ,,Physics in the LHC Era”. The first three conferences in 2001, 2003 and 2005 were held under the aegis of Georgian Academy   of Sciences and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (as well as of HEPI TSU) and since 2007 all responsibilities to the conference carrying out have been incurred by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and HEPI TSU. The conferences referred to the issues of modern theoretical and experimental nuclear physics, physics of particles and accelerators, as well as computer sciences and GRID systems, data processing methods, etc. The 7th conference in 2013 was being prepared for carrying out with support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
